Many a time I've been thinking that life is a never ending game. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but the odds always stay the same. And time flows like a river. I know that's what it's gonna do. Someday it will hurt you, someday it'll tease you, but someday it'll be gentle too, so don't be afraid. And time flies like an eagle, soaring high in the sky. Over the high and the low times, always passing you by. Its talons reaching out for you and it carries you through over valleys and mountains, never loosing its grip on you. As you travel on the misty path of life, everything you see becomes a part of you. The hills and valleys you roam become your own, and deep within your soul you start to grow. You sleep, you dream, and dreams become reality. And when you wake up, you find you've changed. The clock of life is ticking in the hall. If we strive, we'll rise before we fall. The makeup she wears cannot disguise the heavy bruises she tries to hide. Her eyes are in tears and all that she fears is waiting quietly in her own home. She tries to hide, she wears her pride over the pain, but it hurts her all the same. One day she drives into town and she gets a gun. She's gonna protect herself and her young one. If he ever lays hands on her again, she's gonna pull the trigger and then he'll pay for the very bad things that he's done. She's changing the rules.

Darkness comes like a thief on padded feet, creeping behind you, like a snake that's chasing its prey. Woke up on a beach today, didn't know how I came there. The sky was blue, cotton clouds high up in the air. My clothes were torn, the ship was gone. I've got no one but myself now, I'm on my own.
